How do I make my child switch TV and computer games with playing of the piano?

These are not mutually exclusive! A child needs to play and have fun; if you eliminate the fun part of your child’s daily activity, you will hurt her practicing of music. Until your child develops passion for music and practicing, which can be several years after starting the studies, you need to set the priorities straight when it comes to TV and other games versus the music. Music doesn’t have to come before the games; you can set a time limit on the TV or the games, and then when the time is up, your child must start practice, or you say once the practice (with quality) is completed, then she can do whatever she wishes.
